When you slip into the Chaco Women's Borealis Quilt Waterproof Boot, the first thing you’ll notice is the exceptional comfort provided by the LUVSEAT dual density EVA midsole. This technology ensures that you can walk for hours without discomfort, making it suitable for long excursions or daily use. The 10% recycled content in the midsole adds an eco-friendly element, appealing to the environmentally conscious consumer.
The quilted upper not only enhances style but also serves as an additional layer of warmth, crucial for chilly days. Pair this with the seam-sealed waterproof construction, and you have a boot that stands up to rain and snow without compromising on breathability.
One of the standout features is the non-marking ChacoGrip rubber compound, which provides excellent traction. Whether you’re hiking along a rocky path or walking on slippery sidewalks, the 3 mm lug depth offers reliable grip and stability.
However, it's important to note that this boot requires hand washing, which might deter busy individuals seeking low-maintenance footwear. Also, while the design is modern and chic, those looking for a variety of colors may find the options limited.

Lightweight, warm and super comfy . Great boots for Chicago winter
These run a half size small even compared to other Chacos--I have the Barbary boot and sandals in a size 7 but I needed a 7.5 in these, even with thinner socks. In the 7 my toes were jammed right up against the front. But once I exchanged, they're great! Really impressed with how lightweight they are, and warm. And not too difficult to get on and off, although the strap is a little unnecessary in my opinion (but it does look cute?). As always with Chacos, excellent arch support.
The boots are super comfy and very warm. They are very stylish too
My wife ordered these - her review: I want to love these - light and warm, and a soft toe box that is gentle on my hammer toes, but way too narrow! Why can’t anyone make a women’s lightweight winter hiker in wide widths??? I’ve loved many a Chaco sandal, but these are narrow, and lack the same Chaco support the Z sandals offer. Sadly going back
Favorite new boots! These have the support you expect from Chaco but are super light weight so makes it easy to trek around in or chase kids :) they have a warm fabric inside to keep your ankles warmer. Run true to size. I wear 8 1/2 in sandals and 9 in running shoes and boots. Purchased a 9 and they fit perfectly. I have flat feet and bunions with narrow ankles and these have plenty of room in the toe box where my toes don’t feel squished. Would love to buy in every color!
I love Chacos sandals so of course I had to try these! They are comfy and almost like a jacket material which makes them form to the ankle well. Definitely waterproof but not super warm. There is not a ton of grip on the sole but they work for every day use. There is a huge arch in them! As someone who does not need that support it took some getting used to but now that I have, it fits like a glove. The classic Chaco strap is not needed but adds to the look. Easy to put on and take off. I wear a 10 and they are true to size!
Securing the buckle tail is cumbersome, but most of the time I just let it hang down, and it’s not a problem at all. So comfortable that I might get another pair in a different color.
I was hopeful about these boots because I love love love my Chaco sandals. But what I forgot was that Chaco sandals are infinitely adjustable. If you have a narrow foot, that's important. These boots do have a nice arch but they feel really big, even with socks to take up some of the room. And the light-colored soles that come up along the side of the boot are not attractive. Also, that little belt that goes above the ankle is annoying because it's not a click-type belt, but rather one that has to be fed through. These are going back.
