No way to get my foot inside it!

This could've been a great boot, however, I couldn't even get my foot into it! There's no way to get it on since there's no zipper or anything. So unless your foot is extremely narrow, don't bother!

BOGS Snowday short boots

Great , great boot in ALMOST every way.I’m wearing these around the house because I’m still on the fence. 4 ⭐️ because SO many good qualities but one that could be a deal breaker. See reasons. Pics included. What I like:1) cute, quilted material that seems like it would be waterproof or at least very water resistant. Claim is waterproof & use to -13 F. I used to have BOGS for my kids when they were small & always had great performance, so don’t doubt claim. The inside is a brushed felt like material similar to the inside of some winter jackets. Thin but soft & insulating. Feels soft even w/out socks. Nothing inside feels like it would be a source of irritation. This is a big win for me. Anything rubbing the wrong way or feeling to tight makes me hate those shoes/boots….even for short time wear. I can’t do it.2) treads on sole seem excellent. They feel/look as though they would have great traction & hold up well over time.3) lightweight feel & they seem to have a decent arch support & a slightly cushioned heel which is a nice surprise!4) no fur. Nothing against faux fur - it feels good & can be cute on a boot. I, however, am not buying these to tuck in or wear with fitted leggings. Mostly, slightly flared yoga pant or jeans. I don't want the extra bulk - especially with narrower jeans.5) they hit just above the ankle. I read reviews of similar boots & a complaint was they were not quite as high as shown - just at or slightly below ankle. So, the height on these are perfect for what I wanted. Also, not tight around toes. A win.My intended use (live in Chicago suburbs) is first & foremost, something to slip on to walk the dog when wet or snowy or just extra cold. Also a comfortable, lightweight boot for errands, etc. I hate heavy shoes/boots. I am all about quick & easy on and off. I thought this would be a love connection due to the height, lightweight/flexible material, & side zipper.HARD STOP.This is why I am on the fence:They are a MAJOR struggle to get on! I think if the zipper were angled toward the arch a bit it would have been a better design. The boot behind the zipper does not completely open (common boot design) and I’m sure this is to make them more weatherproof. BUT, I can easily get my foot in all of the way. Until… the heel has to go in & the boot pulled up behind it. This is the struggle. It has a loop to help, but just being on the back when it is so hard is not enough. I think, loops slightly to the sides would work better. Its like there is not enough room between the back & the part where the front of your foot meets the leg. Or - maybe that it makes it tight getting up combined with a really flexible material. This is why I say an angled zip might work better. It’s just tight enough with a collapsible material to make it really hard. The heel just can’t get in and boot pulled up behind it without a fight.Admittedly, I have a slightly high instep, but nothing over exaggerated. And, my feet are on the smaller side. I’m pretty much a six womens but typically go 6.5 because I like extra room & option for thicker socks if I want. So, I ordered a size 7. They are a tad big but fine for a boot. Arch support, etc all seems to still be okay. Why is it so hard to get this boot on???? It seriously takes what I’m guessing to be close to 2 full min per boot to wrangle my heel in & the boot fully on. That is just getting the back of the boot pulled up. The material is very flexible. My foot is fully in (and at a slightly bigger size) but the small entry hole just ruins what would be an absolutely awesome boot in all other ways. Why???? Is there no design testing? This is not an off brand just churning out lookalikes. It is REALLY a well made, well designed boot in every other way! FYI.. tried with no socks, very thin socks & medium weight socks it doesn't matter. So here sits my dilemma. I really love the boot once its on. Like - really love it. Despite the small opening, once its on it is not tight or uncomfortable in any way. I’ve been wearing them around the house for over an hour & while writing this. Super comfy!BUT. Again. A biggie. Do I want to have to sit down & struggle at 2 min per boot just to get them on? It doesn’t sound like much, but 4 extra min just to walk out the door.?? We always take our shoes off when we come in, so I just want to slip on with minimal effort while standing. The weird part is, getting them off is not bad at all. Its just pulling the back over the back & sides of my heel when putting on that is a challenge. At first try, my initial instinct was, “hell no - they are going back” as I was trying to get on. But, as I said, once on, they really are super comfy & lightweight with good support. I set them aside and thought I’d revisit in a couple days.Today we got our 1st real snow. I just took them off as the dog was wanting to go out & not ready to commit to the boots yet. I slipped on the oh so stylish 😅 furry Crocs I inherited from my son when he outgrew them. They were fine for the plowed street and about an inch of snow. AND, they were about a half a second to slip into. I know these are a different animal completely & I’m aware even a short boot might require a little bending over & a tug or two, but this reminds me of the effort to get tall stiff snow boots on an uncooperative kid.Is the fact that I got these on sale for 40% off worth keeping them for times when I’ll be in these comfy buggers for awhile? Do I just look for another pair of lightweight short boots for my “quick out the door” option? I will give it a few more inside trial runs.Reading off brand reviews (and I read a ton), others don’t seem to continue to hold up against snow/rain or have good anti slip treads which is important for walking the pup or just winter in general. 1st world problems, right?I know this is long, but for anyone willing to try them that does not experience an issue with the heel pulling up, they would be a big win! Maybe my higher instep is just enough to cause the problem. Either way, I love detailed reviews before I buy. I hope this helps others that feel the same & had the chance time to read my novella. 😉. I am strongly leaning toward keeping theses because they are REALLY comfy. I would recommend trying. With Amazon, at least for me, returning is an easy option. For someone older with limited grip strength or difficulty bending & pulling, maybe not a good choice. Due to the flexible material & always needing to pull it up and over the heel, it could be an issue even if it goes on more easily for anyone with those struggles - thinking of my mom in her 80’s.Otherwise, try them. Maybe it’s me, maybe I’m just too accustom to ease & instant gratification. (Wish I could be in flip flops all year). Once on, though, I really do love them! If this is my biggest problem this year, I guess I’m a lucky girl.

Kid said it’s not water resistant at all. She wears it for a week and some holes appeared.

Great shoes

I almost returned these. People are right that they are hard to get on over your heels (nothing to do with the ankle). However, I accidentally recycled the box it came in so decided to keep. I'm really happy I did. Once they became looser and easier to get on, they have been great. They are water proof, warm and super comfy. I use them as hiking shoes. Love them!
