I read everything that was available about sizing these boots and had no real idea what to do. So I bought my usual size 8.5. They are perfect with some explanation. I have a moderately wide foot and the toe box is perfect for both width and volume. The length is just right and the sole is flexible. Wearing a relatively thin sock while breaking them in. I have a high instep and a medium/low arch. Added a thin superfeet orthotic as the removable ones that came with it does not have much arch support. Used my favorite leather stretching techniques to ease the tight instep. This is normal for my feet and these boots accommodated the changes in the best way. What I now have, in a very few days, is a boot that has molded to and feels like it was made for my feet. I can literally walk in them all day and not feel them. They are still a bit of a pull to get on and off, but they are secure when walking and have not given me a single rub or hot spot. The interior, while unlined, is smooth and very well done.. They look great. A little polish can give them a dressy sort of shine, if you need one. I think I am in love.
I bought my first pair of blunnies years ago at a brick and mortar shop in the states, after trying on pair after pair in multiple styles the salesman clued me in. Do the conversion from Australian to U.S., then make a further allowance for width. Blundstone doesn't produce widths but the width increases with size. In fact as informed by the salesman many manufacturers of these paddock style boots the half size is the increased width of the whole size. Whew! It's confusing but once you get the gist of it.....No biggie. If you have a normal to slender foot, you're golden. If you have a sasquatch foot like mine (13EE) You've got a teensy bit of math homework to do. That being said, these boots did fit as expected, after I did the appropriate math.Secondly; that first pair had worn like iron with broken in comfort right out of the box. You'll find lots of reviews regarding the outsole crumbling. I'm going to echo that sentiment. My second pair did exactly that, at about a year out. This kept me from buying a third pair. Until now. I've missed blunnies. The pull on ease of use. The cushy comfort. Blunnies will work with nearly any outfit. Suits to shorts. I bought a pair having read fewer negative reviews lately. That and I've found cobblers online that replace insoles on these boots.Who buys and wears blundstone? Everyone can wear them. Durable, comfortable, low maintenance, slip off quick for the line at airport security, lightweight, good looking and now resolable. A pair of blunnies and a pair of flip flops and your kind of set for anything short of mountaineering or full formal dress.UPDATE : Nearly a year of wear and no problems. They remain sturdy and comfortable even though they've been worn daily since purchase.UPDATE 2Two years, one month and a day after buying and I've worn these boots in all conditions, year round. Commuting by bicycle through sweltering summer heat and blistering winter freeze, hiking in the foothills carrying a pack and a toddler, cutting and processing cord after cord of firewood in feet of snow. They wear scars from arduous outdoor and indoor labor. Miles and miles walked on pavement, dirt, rock and endless hour on the concrete floor at work I've never cleaned, waxed or polished them. They are worn but not worse for wear. While I have secured boots for working outdoors these boots still carry me through every other situation and other than lazy days spent on flip flops these are the only other shoe I wear with regularity. Daily. Very happy with this purchase.
Not too heavy, great great great, easy 2 get on and great for work and looks sexy too
First let me clear up the sizing questions. I almost always wear a size US11 in men’s sneakers (Reeboks, Nikes, etc). I probably could wear 10 or 10 1/2, but I like having about an inch worth of space (or thumb width) in the toe box (normal I think). So I went with an 11 in these, after reading they’re true to size. Nope. They were a full size too big. So if you’re basing this off your sneaker sizes like me, and you wear your sneakers similarly, you’re going to want to go a full size down. I ordered a US10, very snug at at first, perfect and oh so comfortable after a few hours! They’re supposed to feel a little snug (there’s no laces!). I also own a pair of the dress version with the square toe in a US10. I read somewhere that those run a little bigger than these. Nope. It’s a different kind of fit, but If you own those and they fit well, get the same size here. (Also worth pointing out that these are wayyyy more comfortable). The only minor complaint is that they arrived with a very slight crease in the toe box. My guess is someone else got the wrong size too and send them back, since it’s almost impossible to try these on and walk around a little without making that crease. wasn’t bad enough to return though. Other than that they look great, smell new and definitely seem authentic. Very satisfied.
My son lovd them
Since I purchased, I have only been wearing these shoes! True to size. Flattering fit. Brief break in period. Love them with a boot sock.
These boots are the best they get. Do not order from this seller. They will send the wrong size. Between myself and family Christmas gifts they sent the wrong item initially and when asked for an exchange they send the same wrong size.
