Birkenstock Women's Sarnia Espresso Leather 36 M (US Women's 5-5.5) Review

I contemplated buying these for several weeks. I have been looking for a flat slouchy boot that is comfortable enough to walk a lot in for months. Particularly for a trip that I am taking in a few months. I kept coming back to these because they have the look I want but the reviews (on several websites) we mixed. I am 4’11 and I usually wear a 5.5 or 6 but my legs are larger so it’s usually hard for me to find boots that are actually roomy! I ordered the 6-6.5 size (37) and they fit PERFECTLY. From the reviews I was scared that they would be diffficult to slip on, but the zipper helped and it took seconds to get them on and off. They are very comfortable, and roomy and they look adorable! On top of it all, the opening is large enough that my legs have lots of room and they look exactly how they are supposed to! I can’t wait until the fall!!!

Love these boots in Taupe! I wear a 40 in the sandals and a 41 in the boots and shoes. Very easy to get on no issues at all! It is easier to get the boot on if you unzip it first ;-) the zipper does play a role not just for fashion! Spent the day at the mall the day i got these boots with no issues. Provides great support. These are not the “cushion” style insole but the regular harder surface cork. If you know anything about the Birks brand you will know what I am talking about. My mom prefers the softer style and does not care for these boots because of the footbed. I will definitely buy these boots again! If you like the regular sandles, these are great...just a little less of an arch. Oh looks great with my skinny jeans also!

Birkenstock? Have we ever had to question their quality? The name itself has always stood for high quality and amazing foot support. These boots are like going barefoot. I could feel each individual piece of gravel in our driveway when I wore them. The ball of my foot began to tingle by the end of a few hours wear as they offer almost no support or cushioning. I am still getting over the fact that Birkenstock made these. What a disappointment!

I absolutely love these. My husband jokes I would wear my Birkenstock sandals all year long if I could. Now I don't have to.I wear a size 10 (American size) and usually no matter how cute a shoe/boot is, it is not so cute in a 10. These are defiantly the exception. A friend who shares my "big foot troubles" declared "I would guess they are no bigger than a size 8".They fit perfectly (and will only fit better over time). I wore them for 8 hours first day with no problem.Cute, stylish, comfortable...What more could I ask for. I give these boots as well as all Birkenstocks a full 5 stars.

I read the reviews & knew there was a possibility that my wide, size 11 feet would not be able to be wedged into the boots, however, the did! I put on some light trouser socks, and was able to slip my toes in, adjust the back part of the calf up around my heel, then wedge my foot in further and wiggle until my feet popped in. Very cute boots, very trendy in the NW right now with skinny jeans. These being Birk’s, they’ll go in and out of style, but are made well and I feel like I’ll get years out of them. I’m a plus sized gal with planters fasciitis on/off, but I have noticed a reduction in foot pain since I’ve switched my footwear to uber supportive brands. even though they’re expensive, it’s worth it for me that Birkenstocks seem to alleviate most of the end-of-the-day pain, and the best part is the morning stabbing heel pain has gone away. (I also ice, massage, and stretch, and use support insoles in other, less rigid brands of shoes, so it’s not just the shoes). These have a removable insole, which I wasn’t expecting, but is good because they do wear out after a few months for me. I do a lot of walking, I wear these to work (business casual), & still enjoy wearing them on casual days.Update: the removable Birkenstock’s insoles that came with these wore out after a couple of months, causing my plantar fasciitis to act up again, which was a bit surprising. I removed a star for this reason. I replaced them with some SuperFeet green insoles and they are better, but I did expect a bit longer than 2-3 months of use.

Love them! They are so sassy! A bit hard to get on foot when they are brand new as they pull on & off. The zipper is for looks only. But they feel just like sandals once on and I wear no socks with these boots!

REALLY love the look of these boots! I wear Birkenstock sandals, and was excited to find these boots at such a great price. Yeah, the price should have been the first clue. Because they don't unzip up to the top, you have to work your foot in. Not a huge issue, all things considered, but then there is the fit. NOT comfortable, like a Birk. I took the insole out to try to figure out what the problem was. With my foot on the insole on the ground, it felt great, but when I put it back in the boot, something weird happened. My foot no longer lined up on the foot-bed, and there felt like an extra lump appeared. It was the correct size, so I can only come to the conclusion that there is a flaw in the boot. I ordered two in different colors and it was the same for both of them. Reluctantly sent back.

So so happy with these Birkenstock boots which were a steal compared to other Birkenstock’s I’ve bought over the years. Got them to wear with jeans and leggings. The cork footbed provides arch support and they feel fantastic with wool socks for the winter months. I lucked out when finding these in my size, and at a bargain in neutral brown. They required no breaking in, feel and look cute!
