SO cute but sizing is bizarre, they were about 3 sizes too big
This boot is the perfect mix of motorcycle grit and cowboy classic. Basically, just bad-ass. Love the look and the style. I ordered the distressed black and there are definitely grey tones to it. It matches back to many different outfits and styles. The boots are comfortable and I wore them easily straight out of the box. The bottoms seem to be a bit slick, but as natural scuffing occurs, this issue will resolve itself. Definitely worth the price as I have been searching for this exact boot for a long time and finally happened upon Bed Stu. This is exactly what I was hoping for. Finally, several other reviewers have noted that the boot seems to be somewhat big. So glad I listened to my gut and decided to order my usual 9.5 and not size down to a 9. The 9.5 fits great and the boot is sized appropriately. If you have been looking for a boot like this, go for it!
I like these boots, but they are difficult to get on. The top of my foot is difficult to squeeze into the shoe, but once it's in the boot is very comfortable.
After reading the comments from other purchasers, I opted to size down half a size (normally a 7.5, ordered the 7). The 7.5 would've fit fine. I feel that the look of these were just too narrow - I wanted a rugged black boot and these were somehow not that even with all of the distressed dye applied. In fact, the dye made these black boots appear brown and very shiny - and I really wanted black boots. They seemed to be made well - great leather soles and cushioned insole. Sorry they didn't athestically appeal to me or I would've reordered a larger size. Returned.
These are super cute. Unfortunately the seam where the sole meets the boot has completely come apart. This was only after 5 wears. I have contacted the seller twice with NO response. I would purchase them from some place else. This is too much money to spend on boots that fall apart and then you have zero recourse.
I too read the comments about the size and ordered 1/2 size down. That was a mistake. I loved the look of the boots - they are striking, but it was a real struggle pulling them on. Sadly, I had to return them.Update: I did order the correct size - they fit perfectly now. They have an interesting patina and a real craftsman look about them. The quality is amazing and they are very comfortable.
I adore these boots, but not for the quality. If you want quality boots buy Frye. If you want bad ass, rockabilly, punk rock style boots then buy these, because those are RARE to find. The quality is rather cheap, the wrap around strap is flimsy and the boots are light, not at all what I expected. But as I said, they are a staple in my wardrobe but not because of the quality.
My third pair of bed stu boots and I understand why they were so discounted now. Hard to get on but a shoe horn takes care of that issue. While everyone other pair I have run bigger generally, the toe box is too low and the boot runs narrow. I am trying to stretch since I do like the style and quality is great, as expected.
